Executive Director and Deputy Country Managing Director Designate

Mr. Irechukwu Ugochukwu Michael is the current Deputy Managing Director Designate of Access Bank Cameroon Plc. He was the divisional head institutional banking in Diamond Bank, before joining Access Bank in April 2019.

Ugochukwu has been in the banking sector since 1998 and has gained well-rounded experience cutting across operations, retail, commercial, and corporate banking.

Due to his remarkable achievements in driving growth and profitability in the Beverages & Personal Care Sector at Access Bank Plc, Ugochukwu received a commendation letter from the Group Managing Director as one of the highest performing group heads bank wide in the year 2022. He is passionate about creating a culture of excellence and inclusion that promotes high performance and excellent customer experiences.

Ugoh is focused and committed to leading high performing teams. He is skilled in driving profitability, liability growth, product development, and digitization of processes. He is also proactive in the optimization of value chains in businesses, by leveraging innovative solutions and technology in a modern, dynamic business environment.

Holder of a BSc in Microbiology (Second Class Upper Division) from the University of Port Harcourt and an MBA in Finance from the University of Lagos Ugoh has undergone various leadership programs, including Factoring and Invoice Discounting Training, AFREXIM – Mauritius Turning Strategy into Action, Lagos Business School Management Development Program, and HCP Performance as well as High Impact Presentation. He has also undergone further leadership programs at the Saïd Business School – University of Oxford in Enterprise Management and at Harvard Business School in Leading Change and Organizational Renewal.

Other distinctions he has acquired include environmental and social risk assessment, anti-money laundering, and Combating the Financing of Terrorism & FATC, Managerial Accounting, and Credit Analysis.
