Mr. Hatho Serge currently serves as the Head of Corporate Banking at the Cameroonian subsidiary of Access Bank Group, where he leads corporate strategy, manages high-value institutional relationships, and drives sustainable revenue growth.
With over two decades of progressive leadership in banking, he brings deep expertise in corporate finance, transaction banking, financial institutions coverage, and multinational relationship management.
Born on 2nd July 1972 in Bafang, West Region of Cameroon, he is married and a proud father of two children.
His career began in the year 2000 at Standard Chartered Bank Cameroon, a subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank PLC, where he served for 25 years in roles of increasing responsibility.
Throughout his tenure, he demonstrated strong strategic acumen and execution capabilities by leading the Public Sector, Development Organizations, and Financial Institutions portfolios as Associate Director in Transaction Banking. He managed and expanded Financial Institutions, Large Corporations, and Multinational portfolios across the CEMAC region. And he successfully introduced innovative financial solutions, including FI Trade Loan and IRU structures, creating new revenue streams and strengthening institutional partnerships.
His leadership has been consistently recognized with prestigious awards, including the CEO Award (2016) for product innovation and collaboration, Employee of the Year (2006), and a Special CEO Commendation (2024) for executive coverage at the senior management level.
He holds a degree in Business Management from the Catholic University of Central Africa and is fluent in both French and English, enabling him to operate effectively across multicultural and cross-border environments.
He brings a strong combination of strategic corporate banking expertise, regional market knowledge (CEMAC), proven revenue growth capability, institutional relationship management, governance awareness and executive-level decision support.
